ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, March 8, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Ambassador Ramtane Lamamra, Commissioner for Peace and Security, met, yesterday, with Sir Malcolm Bruce, the Chair of the International Development Committee (IDC) of the United Kingdom’s Parliament, and his accompanied delegation.

The two parties discussed various issues of peace and development, as well as violence against women in areas of conflict. They also exchanged views on the situation in Mali, Sudan, Somalia and DR Congo. Commissioner Lamamra briefed the delegation on the preparation for the 50th anniversary of the OAU / AU in May 2013 and on AU goals to be fulfilled by 2063 and before in the areas of development, integration, good governance, peace, security and prosperity of Africa.
