Climate Change in Africa Network – AfricaAdapt

Climate change is a hot topic in Africa at the moment. One networking site which is having an impact is AfricaAdapt which focusses on knowledge sharing for climate change adaptation.

About the site

This independent bilingual (English/French) network focusses exclusively on climate change in Africa. The site uses a multi-media approach to knowledge sharing and should appeal to educators, researchers, newshounds, civil societies and local NGOs. The site offers:

    • An innovation fund offering small grants for new approaches to knowledge sharing
    • Radio-based programming and dialogues in local languages, developed with community radio broadcasters across the continent
    • Face-to-face meetings bringing people together to exchange ideas and overcome challenges
    • Mobile alert service letting people without easy web-access know the latest news.
    • A CD-Rom and paper-based dissemination service for network news and resources
  • It is free to join the network and access the resources.
